World Championship and Int’l Super Cup, Genk

World Championship and Int’l Super Cup, Genk: Federer (KZ) and Viganò (KZ2) on pole position.

KZ qualifying was a little bit unusual. Paolo de Conto (CRG – CRG – TM Racing), the 2017 world champion, had to stop when he was going to start his fast lap. He suffered a water leak. For this reason, he classified 17th.

Other drivers were affected by De Conto water Leak because there was standing water in the middle of the track.

So, pole position was for Fabian Federer (SRP Racing Team – CRG – TM Racing), ahead of Marijn Kremers (Birel Art Racing Team – Birel Art – TM Racing) and Patrik Hajek (Kosmic Racing Departement – Kosmic – Vortex).

Simo Puhakka (Tony Kart Racing Team – Tony Kart – Vortex) finished in fourth position; Finnish driver could have been in 2nd place, according to his theorical lap-time.

Anthony Abbasse (Sodikart – Sodi – TM Racing) was 5th, followed by Lorenzo Camplese (Evokart – Evokart – TM Racing), who has made his debut with Evokart.

Andrea Dalè (Nuova 3M – CRG – TM Racing) finished 7th, 2nd among private drivers behind Federer. The top 10 was completed by Rick Dreezen (KR Motorsport – KR – Parilla)Stan Pex (CRG Holland – CRG – TM Racing) and Ben Hanley (Mad-Kroc Karting (Croc Promotions – TM Racing).

It is very difficult to know how different would have been this qualifying session if the track did not became inundated, thus affected so many drivers to give their maximum potential.
